The Whitlams Black Stump have added extra shows to their expansive Kookaburra album launch national tour, which will continue throughout September with special guests Sweet Talk and Melody Moko at some shows.
Announcing the Kookaburra launch tour back in February, The Whitlams Black Stump have been travelling across the country on a 25-date run that began in March and wraps up on 1 June.
From Friday, 21 June, until Saturday, 12 October, the group will tour more venues (and festivals) across the East Coast, promoting their album, which remains at #3 on the ARIA Australian Country Albums Chart.
The new Kookaburra dates take place in Mangrove Mountain, Abermain, Dungog, Maclean, Bellingen, Armidale, Leumeah, Katoomba, Gulgong, and Gerringong in NSW, Creswick, Echuca, Frankston, and Main Ridge in Victoria, and Toowoomba, the Gympie Music Muster, and Savannah In The Round music festival in Queensland.
You can find all the tour dates and venues below, and purchase tickets to the shows here.
In March, The Whitlams Black Stump released their excellent debut album, Kookaburra. This follows the release of The Whitlams’ 2022 LP Sancho, which was their first full-length effort in 16 years (following 2006’s Little Cloud).

Countrytown’s Jess Martyn caught The Whitlams Black Stump at Bluesfest earlier this year, calling their set at the festival a “resounding success”.
Martyn complimented frontman Tim Freedman’s stagecraft, praising his “inspiring dramatic gestures and animation even while both hands were busy on the keys.” Martyn added, “All the band members were in on the rhythm, and the crowd received and multiplied it beautifully.
“The last and most endearing thing worth noting about the band was their humility. Despite (and perhaps, in some way, because of) their 137 years of combined touring experience, they had no expectations but gratitude for the crowd watching on.”
