The Script (Jordan Rossi)
After an astounding career marked by over 10 billion streams, 12 million album sales, six UK #1 albums, five Top 10 ARIA charting albums, and two Platinum-certified US singles, The Script are back with their new album Satellites, set to drop on 16th August 2024. The lead single, Both Ways, is already making waves and is available for streaming today.
Both Ways heralds a fresh and bold direction for The Script, infusing hip-hop and funk rhythms with Danny O'Donoghue's dynamic vocals. The track's infectious energy and dance-floor-ready vibes have drawn comparisons to a fusion of Black Eyed Peas and Bruno Mars.
Drummer Glen Power highlights the band's evolution: “Both Ways is high energy, and maybe not what people might expect from us. But we’re The Script, and now we have something to prove that there is life and light after the darkness. It’s why we’re coming fast and strong with that one.”
This album marks The Script's first major project since the passing of their beloved bandmate Mark Sheehan.
Vocalist Danny O'Donoghue reflects on the journey of creating Satellites: “The album cover is silhouettes of me, Glen, and Ben Sargeant, our bassist, who's been with us from the beginning. Then we have a hooded silhouette, because the air of Mark is still there. He always will be, but it's also giving a tip of the hat to the future. It'll never be the same Script. We're just trying to get on and do what it is that we all feel is the next right thing to do and that’s to keep making more great music.”
The creative process behind Satellites saw the band experimenting with new sounds, including 808s and R&B-inspired elements. Collaborations with renowned hitmakers like Steve Robson and Wayne Hector helped craft an uplifting and forward-looking collection of songs.
Satellites is now available for pre-order in various formats, including a limited-edition hardback book CD, black vinyl, and standard CD. Fans can also find a limited-edition white vinyl, cassette, and new merchandise in The Script's official store.
Following a series of emotional and celebratory performances in 2023, The Script are set to embark on a massive tour, supporting P!nk across the UK, Europe, and America, before headlining their own shows in November and December across the UK and Europe.
