The Brisbane venue is capping off 700+ days of good times with a stacked line-up of greatness in a few weeks' time
It's a little hard to believe that beloved Brisbane venue The Foundry has only been around for two years.
So ingrained in the Valley's fabric of live-music venues has the space become over the past 730ish days that it seems like it's been around forever.
Over the course of its short lifespan, it has hosted everyone from Dune Rats, Middle Kids, GUM, Velociraptor, L-FRESH The LION and Ali Barter to Neon Indian, Astro Travellers, HANNAHBAND, Golden Vessel, Confidence Man, WHALEHOUSE and so many more, a tally bolstered by its role as a crucial locale for both the Mountain Goat Valley Crawl and Blurst Of Times Festival events.
And there's no end in sight for the good times — as they did last year, the good people of The Foundry are throwing a celebratory bash to mark another spin around the sun, joined by another stacked line-up of awesome acts this year led by put-the-fun-in-funky Melburnian electro-soul-pop duo GL.

They'll be joined by fellow interstate fly-ins Party Dozen (aka the loosely improvisational experimental noise project of seasoned musos Kirsty Tickle and Jonathan Boulet) as well as Brissy acts Holiday Party — a nascent electro/indie/pop project featuring the insanely versatile Luke McDonald (The John Steel Singers, Robert Forster) and Mel Tickle (PYNES, Little Scout), with new recruit Scott Bromiley (also of The John Steel Singers), playing their first-ever show — and Hatchie, the already-acclaimed solo project of Babaganouj bassist/vocalist Harriet Pilbeam.
(Big fan of the fact that two of the four acts have the word "party" built right into their name, so that you know what you're in for from the outset. Smart. Efficient. Dig it.)
The Foundry will be holding this mega-bash on Thursday 10 August, so mark it down in your calendars — tickets go on sale from 3pm today.
