'E N C Y C L O P E D I A' drops September 26, is a massive pain to type
US indie duo and one-time scene darlings The Drums have revealed the title and release date for their impending third studio full-length, E N C Y C L O P E D I A, which is due to be released this September by POD via Inertia.
The first taste of the new record comes in the form of freshly dropped single Magic Mountain, which singer Jonny Pierce describes in a statement as “a sparkling reflection of our last three years”.
“It's about shedding off what binds you and protecting what’s good, finding a safe place away from everyone and everything that wants to destroy you,” Pierce said.

You can stream Magic Mountain – with newfound, notably dirtier aesthetic ferociously on display – in full right here:
It’s been a little quiet on The Drums front of late, who broke through in a big way back in 2011 with sophomore LP Portamento and its ubiquitous, now-unlistenable hit Money, going on to grace festival stages around the world – including at Australia’s Groovin The Moo and St Jerome’s Laneway Festival – as well finding time for core members Pierce and Jacob Graham to each put out solo work of their own.
But, at least for the foreseeable future, you can rest safe in the knowledge that their days are all about The Drums, and soon yours will be, too – E N C Y C L O P E D I A will hit stores on Friday, September 26.
