Beloved Australian band The Cat Empire are hitting the road this August and September.

Touring in celebration of their tenth album, Bird In Paradise, the shows come after the band embarked on an impressive 61-date tour of North America, Europe, and the UK, as well as performing at this year’s Bluesfest in Byron Bay.

The upcoming tour will mark the first time Australian fans will witness Bird In Paradise songs live, and see a brand-new show from one of the country’s most dynamic live acts.

Starting off at Freo.Social on Saturday, 9 August, the tour continues through Sydney, Newcastle, Broken Hill (for the Mundi Mundi Bash), the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Cairns, Tasmania, Ballarat, and Melbourne. In a family-friendly move by the Aussie outfit, eight shows will allow teenagers and younger ones to attend.

Tickets will be available at 12 pm AEST on Thursday, 22 May, via The Cat Empire’s website. For the tour, the band will be joined by special guests Little Quirks.

Bird In Paradise is The Cat Empire’s boldest, most vibrant release to date. It was born from a place of spontaneity, raw energy, and musical alchemy and finds the group back to their organic roots while experimenting with flamenco, funk, Latin, jazz, and Creole influences.

Upon its release, frontman Felix Riebl said, “We didn’t set out to make this record — it found us. It’s a celebration of spontaneity, togetherness, and letting music lead the way.”
