It follows the news that they’ll be playing A Festival Called Panama in Tasmania.

The Beths have announced a short run of headline shows for their mates across the pond, hitting three Australian theatres over the first week of March.
They’ll kick things off in Sydney (Eora) on Friday March 1, taking to the stage at the idyllic Factory Theatre. From there, the Kiwi indie-rockers will head to Perth (Boorloo) – playing the Rosemount Hotel on Monday March 4 – before wrapping up at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne (Naarm) on Thursday March 7.
It comes in tandem with The Beths’ appearance at A Festival Called Panama in Launceston (kanamaluka), which they’ll play on Sunday March 10 alongside King Stingray, Kaiit, Floodlights, Jen Cloher and more.
Tickets for all three of the band’s headline shows are on sale now via Live Nation – find them here.
Also released this week was a new music video for Your Side, a cut pulled from The Beths’ stellar third album Expert In A Dying Field. The adorable clip is cobbled together using home-video footage shot on the band’s recent world tour, showing its members in their rawest and most human forms.

The album itself arrived on September 16, 2022, followed by a deluxe edition – which sported eight bonus tracks, including two acoustic cuts and four demos – one day shy of a year later. Also featured on the deluxe reissue were the standalone singles A Real Thing (which first hit the airwaves in February 2022) and Watching The Credits (which landed in March 2023).
Last October, The Beths teamed up with Pickle Darling to release a cover of The Postal Service’s 2003 classic Brand New Colony. It dropped as part of a double A-side split with Car Seat Headrest, who covered Death Cab For Cutie’s own 2003 hit We Looked Like Giants.
We last saw The Beths perform live at last year’s Laneway Festival, after which David James Young wrote in his review for The Music: “Highlights from all three of their studio albums fly by in the 45-minute set, from the tender undercurrent swelling of Out Of Sight to the churning, explosive noise of Silence Is Golden. Pulling no punches and sparing no expense, The Beths are about as reliable a band as you could hope for.”
