"The difference between me and Noel is that I do a series of interviews to promote an album, whereas he does an album to promote a series of interviews."

The 1975 frontman Matty Healy has finally responded to Noel Gallagher’s poetic barb - Gallagher recently called Healy a “slack-jawed fuckwit” and the band “shit”.
Healy didn’t offer his response in an interview or on social media, but live on stage. Opening for his own band after special guest Caroline Polachek lost her voice, Healy put on a last-minute acoustic set in Dublin ahead of the backdrop that only said “Sorry?” in spray paint.
As Stereogum reports, Healy showcased the live debuts of The 1975’s Then Because She Goes and Playing On My Mind before taking on Colin Hay’s I Just Don’t Think I’ll Ever Get Over You.
Perhaps alluding to his reported break-up with Taylor Swift, Healy told the audience that he had received “beautiful” messages and packages from Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Bono. “This is not a namedrop, this is a celebration of them as people,” he said, before finally addressing Noel Gallagher’s recent commentary surrounding The 1975.
“Noel Gallagher called me a ‘slack-jawed fuckwit,’” Healy began. “I love Noel Gallagher. We asked Liam to open up and he said he would have done it but he was busy. But I love Noel Gallagher, give it up for Noel Gallagher.”
Healy continued, “He’s just getting on … The difference between me and Noel is that I do a series of interviews to promote an album, whereas he does an album to promote a series of interviews. But we love you Noel, get Oasis back together!”

“You’ve either got to be rock, or that fucking 1975,” Gallagher said in a recent interview with NME, referencing Oasis’ impact on rock music in the 90s and 2000s before getting into how rock music has changed since then.
He added, “At the BRITs, The 1975 won Best Rock or some fucking shit. I was watching it with my kids, two teenage lads, thinking, ‘Is it me being a grumpy old man, or is this shit?’ They were both going, ‘Oh no, this is fucking shit’.
“The 1975, Best Rock Band? Someone needs to redefine that immediately, because that is… I don’t know what that is, but it’s certainly not fucking rock. Whatever rock is, that’s not it.”
The entire feud began after Healy’s comments in a February appearance on Q with Tom Power where he said Oasis needed to “stop messing around”, “grow up”, and “headline Glastonbury”.
