The blues/rock/roots veterans have three headline shows lined up in March
Venerated blues/rock/roots supergroup the Tedeschi Trucks Band will perform a trio of standalone headline shows in addition to their impending performance at next year's Byron Bay Bluesfest, it has been announced.
The Florida-based hybrid outfit — centred on husband-and-wife duo Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, surrounded by several players from their solo pursuits — will complete their each of their sideshows (their first performances in the country since 2013) ahead of Bluesfest's start date, getting under way at Melbourne's Forum Theatre on Saturday 19 March, heading via Canberra (where they play the Canberra Theatre Centre, 20 March) to Sydney, wrapping up their pre-festival sojourn at the Enmore Theatre on Tuesday 22 March.
The band — which has a pedigree long predating its present moniker — came together as its current amalgam in 2011, with keenly received debut full-length Revelator showing early on that the Tedeschi-Trucks musical team-up was a force to be reckoned with, picking up a Best Blues Album Grammy, as well as a Blues Music Award for Album of The Year, along the way. The guitarists-turned-spouses cut their teeth separately over many years and outfits, and now get to enjoy, in each other's company, the fruits of their labours in high regard as a premier live act.
Tickets for Tedeschi Trucks Band's Bluesfest sideshows — which will be held in the wake of their next forthcoming studio full-length, due early 2016 — go on sale from 9am (AEDT) this Thursday, 29 October, through a variety of venues (Melbourne/Canberra/Sydney).
