Take 5 With Zan Rowe will return to our screens this October with yet another star-studded cast of musicians, actors, and comedians.
Based on her Double J podcast, Take 5, the television version follows the same format – albeit shortened – as a star sits down with Zan Rowe and chooses five songs that relate to Rowe’s chosen theme.
For season three, Take 5 With Zan Rowe will send viewers on a journey to London, Auckland, and back to Australia with a phenomenal group of guest stars.
Rowe will hear deeply personal, vulnerable stories from Australian pop star and actress Dannii Minogue, comic, musician and actor Bill Bailey, actress Claudia Karvan, rock icons and storytellers Neil Finn and Bernard Fanning, and singer Casey Donovan.
Season three of Take 5 With Zan Rowe will premiere on Tuesday, 1 October, at 8:30 pm on ABC TV. All six episodes of the season will be available to stream on ABC iView. Plus, extended conversations between Rowe and the stars can be heard from Tuesday, 1 October, on the ABC Listen app.

In the first two seasons, Take 5 With Zan Rowe secured an impressive roster of guests, including Noel Gallagher, Jimmy Barnes, Natalie Imbruglia, Tori Amos, Missy Higgins, Keith Urban, and more.
Guests who have starred on the radio version of Take 5 include Paul McCartney, Jessica Mauboy, Shirley Manson, Billy Corgan, Kylie Minogue, and Common, just to name a few.
In an opinion piece about why Take 5, the TV series, is what the music industry needs right now, The Music’s Stephen Green argued:
In Take Five, Zan Rowe has created a thoroughly modern TV show that understands its audience. It’s not trying to be bite-sized clickbait headlines to deliver news; we have TikTok for that. Socials fill a need, but it’s on-demand and not exactly destination content. Take Five understands that the television medium needs more. She also understands that the modern music fan doesn’t want to be told what to listen to. They don’t need to be. It’s all there when they want it. They don’t want to be told. They want to be inspired.
