The band has apologised to fans.
If Franz Ferdinand weren’t already on your Splendour In The Grass must-see acts list, you might want to add them, as the Scottish indie rock outfit have proven to be a formidable force as of late.
The band were reportedly so loud at Madrid event Mad Cool Festival across the weekend that Massive Attack cancelled their appearance scheduled for the same time at a nearby stage.
As Stereogum reports, the festival made the announcement of Massive Attack’s last-minute cancellation via a tweet that has since been deleted, stating “the sound of the stage where Franz Ferdinand was playing at the time would bother them during the performance of their show”.
Mad Cool has since issued a joint statement with Massive Attack via the festival’s website, apologising to the thousands of fans who waited to see the band play.

The noise from Franz Ferdinand's stage would have reportedly caused issues with their in-ear monitors and meant they couldn’t perform.
Looking at the Splendour In The Grass timetable, Ocean Alley, Audiopaxx DJs, Fantastic Man, IPS and a few others might need to turn up the PA on Saturday night.
