Spacey Jane have unveiled a new version of Lots Of Nothing, featuring New Zealand pop singer BENEE.
The Fremantle indie rockers have reworked the song from their 2022 ARIA #1 album, Here Comes Everybody. Initially released in June 2021, the first single from the group's third album, Lots Of Nothing, landed at #3 on the triple j hottest 100 in 2022.
BENEE, real name Stella Rose Bennett, provides a dreamy verse that adds to an already beloved well-known song. The Supalonely singer commented, "I love Spacey Jane and it’s always fun collaborating with ma Aussie mates hehe! We all met playing Laneway Fest, pre Covid, so I was stoked to be asked to jump on this track! I really hope we can perform this remix live together!"
Spacey Jane's Caleb Harper added, "We're so excited to have BENEE on this track! We've been fans of Stella for a long time and ever since we played together on Laneway (way back in 2020) she's been a dream collab for me.
"Stella really took the lead on her verse, it's new territory for us so we were lucky to have something we were really happy with from the start. It's so cool to see a song that I wrote over two years ago have new life breathed into it like this. We hope you like it as much as we do!"
Harper explained in the band's The Music cover story: "I think what impacted the writing process more than anything, or like the pressure we felt, was probably the fact that we knew it was going to be the second record. The first record I remember being nervous about it - it was just exciting. It didn't feel like as much was at stake in some senses. But with writing for Here Comes Everybody, it was definitely a lot more like, ‘Okay, people expect something after you've done your first album.’"

Spacey Jane's drummer, Kieran Lama, launched his own artist management company in 2021.
"It’s been a pretty surreal journey for all of us so far, and I’m stoked to finally be making my role as manager ‘official’," he commented.
"We’ve all sort of been feeling our way through the music biz for the last few years, especially the last 12 months, and since then I’ve really settled into things and realised artist management is something I want to stick with long-term.
"I’m incredibly excited and appreciative to be representing my very best friends and navigating this industry with them and our amazing team, every step of the way. I have a deep passion for the project, songs and the people and look forward to seeing what comes next!"
