While the Fooeys enjoy movement thanks to their current tour
Soundwave act Falling In Reverse have landed in the ARIA Albums Chart top ten, scoring the highest debut entry of the week.
The band, who finish up their Soundwave campaign today in Brisbane, nabbed eighth position with new album Just Like You. The expected bump from the heavy music festival also saw Fall Out Boy’s American Beauty/American Psycho move into 35th spot, Marilyn Manson’s The Pale Emperor into 42nd, while Slipknot’s .5: The Gray Chapter also ventured into the 50, coming in at 46.
The other big mover this week, also as predicted, was the Foo Fighters, who have two albums sitting in the top ten thanks to their current Aussie tour. The stadium rock outfit’s newest record Sonic Highways jumped 13 spots to sit at six this week, while their Greatest Hits compilation came in at seven after sitting at 40 the previous week.
The Fifty Shades Of Grey soundtrack held onto the top spot again this week and Taylor Swift’s 1989 moved back into second from third, pushing current visitor Drake’s new mixtape If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late down to ten.
Other debuts this week came from Jason Aldean – Old Boots, New Dirt (13), The Avener – The Wanderings Of The Avener (17), Big Sean – Dark Sky Paradise (28), Songs Of Anarchy Vol. 4 (Music From Sons Of Anarchy Season 7) (30), Jose Gonzalez – Vestiges & Claws (34) and Kid Rock – First Kiss (45).
Over to the ARIA Singles Chart and once again British singer Ellie Goulding came in at one with her latest effort Love Me Like You Do. The rest of the top five also remained the same: Rihanna, Paul McCartney & Kanye West’s FourFiveSeconds in at two, Omi’s Cheerleader at three, Mark Ronson’s collaboration with Bruno Mars, Uptown Funk at fourth and Bluesfest-bound Hozier and Take Me To Church came in at fifth.
Aussies that made singles moves this week were Iggy Azalea and her new track with American R&B singer Jennifer Hudson, Trouble, which jumped from 75 to 15, as well as EDM star Timmy Trumpet, whose song with Chardy, Hipsta debuted at 35.
