The British pop icon has been announced as the headline performer for the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras' Bondi Beach Party on Saturday, February 24, 2024, where the iconic location will come alive with Ellis-Bextor's energetic blend of disco pop and electronica, setting the stage for an unforgettable night of music and celebration.
With a career spanning over two decades, Sophie Ellis-Bextor is not just a pop sensation but a dance music legend. The highlight of Ellis-Bextor's Bondi Beach Party set will undoubtedly be the resurgence of Murder on the Dancefloor.
Released over two decades ago, the track recently made a stunning comeback, climbing back to the top of the charts, thanks to its iconic use in the film Saltburn. The catchy melody and vocals have turned the song into a viral sensation, amassing millions of streams and topping Spotify's Viral 50 chart in the U.S.
Joining Sophie Ellis-Bextor in this epic dance event are pop phenomenon Slayyyter (USA) and celebrated DJs Jay Jay Revlon (UK), Lagoon Femshaymer (UK), and Corey Craig (US). Local favourites Tyoow, Mama de Leche, and Beth Yen will also be there bringing the party vibes as the sun sets on Bondi Beach.
