Snoop Dogg has shocked fans across the globe with his latest tweet, where he claimed that he’s “giving up smoke”.
As well as his music, the hip-hop legend has been making headlines with his well-documented love for smoking marijuana. But now, that habit may be apparently coming to an end.
Taking to social media overnight, the Drop It Like It’s Hot rapper wrote in a statement, “After much consideration and conversation with my family, I have decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time.” No other information was offered.
Suspecting that perhaps Snoop is messing with fans, one Twitter/X user commented, “This is probably just gonna be some viral campaign where he launches his own line of vapes or edibles or something.” Another user quipped, “damn, the world is really coming to an end.” Incredulous, another fan wrote, “Today isn’t April Fools day Snoop”.

In December 2022, Snoop Dogg revealed that the highest he’s ever been was when he smoked weed with Willie Nelson. “We was in Amsterdam on 4/20, and he was doing a concert out there. So, we went back to his hotel room, and we was playing dominoes,” Snoop Dogg began his explanation on the Let’s Go! podcast.
The rapper continued, “Me and him were playing dominoes one-on-one. He (was) whooping my ass, and I’m just getting higher and higher and higher.”
He then exclaimed that the 89-year-old country music icon was out smoking him: “He just keep passing it (the joint) to me, and I’m like, ‘This old motherfucker out smoking me’.”
Snoop Dogg and Willie Nelson performed their collaborative track, Roll Me Up And Smoke Me When I Die, at Nelson’s 90th birthday bash in May.
In March, Dogg was spotted hanging out backstage at Rod Laver Arena with Ed Sheeran and Russell Crowe, with a questionable substance in a jar between them. Ed Sheeran looked positively gleeful to be beside Snoop; Russell Crowe seemed to be having a great time, too.
