Slipknot’s DJ and keyboardist Sid Wilson has been hospitalised with burns sustained from working on his farm, he revealed on Instagram on Saturday (24 August).

Fans likely first heard of Wilson’s injuries via a post shared by Slipknot, with the band writing on a black background: “Our brother Sid Wilson was in an accident today and sustained burns across his body. He’s recovering with his family and will still join us on stage at Rocklahoma next weekend. He thanks everyone for the well wishes and will see you all soon.”

Sharing a video from a hospital bed, Wilson informed fans, “Hey everybody, I had an explosion in my face. I’m gonna be OK, but I did have some serious burns to my face and my arms.”

Revealing that the video he filmed was shaky because he was still shaking following the incident, Wilson continued, “I’m singed everywhere - my eyebrows are singed, my mouth is blistered, my arms are pretty bad – both my arms.”

In a follow-up video, Wilson added, “I’m OK… I’m a trooper… not exactly, but I’m hanging in there. This is not gonna stop me… I’m gonna be OK.”

Metal Hammer notes that Wilson’s partner, Kelly Osbourne, also shared a post on her Instagram Stories where she said: “This is why you don't fuck with burn piles – he literally set himself on fire and exploded everything.”

Slipknot will perform at the Rocklahoma festival in Pryor, Oklahoma, which will take place from 30 August to 1 September.

Earlier this year, Slipknot and tour promoters for Knotfest Australia, Destroy All Lines, confirmed that the band would return to Australia in early 2025 to headline their titular festival.

The line-up for Knotfest Australia 2025 – headlined by Slipknot – will be revealed later this year.

This month, Slipknot kicked off their 25th anniversary celebrations. The 25th-anniversary setlist features Slipknot’s 1999 self-titled album played in its entirety and nothing else—vocalist Corey Taylor wasn’t kidding when he said, “Nothing you will hear tonight was written after 1999” in recent footage.
