I want people to feel good when they hear the new album. I want to set a celebratory tone, and “Giddy up!" is a way to call to the audience and say, "let's get ready for some fun!”
Five-time GRAMMY award-winning country artist Shania Twain has dropped a new single Giddy Up!, along with a music video that is sure to raise your spirits.
The song represents a classic country jive mixed in with some exciting pop elements that scream Shania Twain. Akin to her earlier pop mega-hits like That Don't Impress Me Much or Man! I Feel Like A Woman, Twain is stepping back into the spotlight with a bang.
On the new single, Shania said, "The saying “Let’s Go Girls!” is such a wonderfully uplifting sentiment now, but it’s just something I said during the recording in the studio and I guess that’s the same for "Giddy Up!". These lines come to me when I’m thinking about how to put a little “pep in my step." I want people to feel good when they hear the new album. I want to set a celebratory tone, and “Giddy up!" is a way to call to the audience and say "let's get ready for some fun!”
Giddy Up is the second single to be released off her eagerly awaited album Queen Of Me, set to come out on February 3rd. The first single, Waking Up Dream, was released to critical acclaim and was the first track the singer had released in six years.
On social media, Twain celebrated the song's imminent release, saying, "Every time I get to announce something like this, I get such a rush of adrenaline and nerves — it never gets old… I am super excited to share with you that my new song Waking Up Dreaming is coming out this Friday!!” Twain captioned. “I’ve spent the last couple years working away on new music… on my documentary… on the Vegas residency and it’s been such a creatively fulfilling time for me, I can’t wait for this next chapter and Waking Up Dreaming is just the start.”

The Queen of Me 2023 tour will follow quickly after the release of the album, with Twain bringing her maximalist charm around North America before jetting off to the UK and returning for a few dates in the US and Canada.
There is no news on whether or not Twain will tour down under as of yet, but with a packed touring schedule for 2023, Aus fans won't be seeing the country-pop queen until at least 2024.
In addition to a new album and a lengthy tour, Twain has recently released a documentary with Netflix titled Shania Twain: Not Just A Girl. It shows Twain’s career with famed documentary producer, writer and director Joss Crowley at the helm, who has previously made documentaries for other high-profile musicians, including most recently, Mark Ronson and Ritchie Blackmore.
The documentary has been in production for several years and made its premiere earlier this year at the Mammoth Film Festival in California. Studio guitarist Brent Mason and drummer Paul Leim have been interviewed for the project, as both played on four of Twain’s studio albums.
