The Wanderer Festival team have today (July 31) announced the last handful of artists for this year’s edition, making for one of its biggest and best lineups yet.
The new announcement features 15 names in total, with highlights including Sampa The Great, Ben Lee, Empress, Northeast Party House, Teen Jesus And The Jean Teasers, WILSN and Batts. Also joining the party are a couple of US-based acts – Mourning [A] BLKstar and Lonnie Holley – as well as other local favourites like Cash Savage & The Last Drinks, DJ Dad Bod, Hold//Fire, Little Quirks, This Way North and Tijuana Cartel.
The full roster now spans a total of 50 live music acts, as well as a separate program stacked with art performances, installations and workshops. The first announcement was made back in April – sporting the likes of The Jungle Giants, Spiderbait and Kevin Morby – with the second arriving in May. It was revealed then that Ocean Alley, Django Django and Thelma Plum would be headlining the festivities.
This year’s Wanderer Festival will return to Pambula Beach on the NSW Sapphire Coast, running over the weekend of Friday September 29 to Sunday October 1. Tickets are available in one-, two- and three-day options, and punters will be able to camp across the whole weekend; head here for all the info on how you can secure a spot in the grounds.
“I’m thrilled with how Wanderer is shaping up this year,” festival organiser Simon Daly said in a statement shared alongside May’s announcement. “We’re curating a really strong program consistent with what Wanderer is all about.

“It is diverse in every sense and includes plenty of well-known favourites as well as amazing new talent. We are really proud to be delivering such a world-class event on the Sapphire Coast. It is really rewarding creating something so equally loved by both the local community as well as travellers coming from all over Australia for an unforgettable experience in this stunning part of the world.”
John Graham (NSW’s minister for jobs and tourism, and minister for the arts) added, “Music festivals are an integral part of our NSW music culture and economy. The NSW Government is excited to bring this festival to the regional communities in Bega Valley, driving visitors for a cultural experience in a beautiful part of the country. Events such as this will no doubt revive the touring circuit on the south coast.”
