Brisbane's Riverstage is celebrating its 30th anniversary next month with a huge birthday bash complete with Hot Dub Time Machine, Cub Sport, Last Dinosaurs, Confidence Man and Clea on the line-up.

Here some of the acts share their favourite Riverstage memories.

Cub Sport

We’ve gone to so many amazing shows at Riverstage, we’ve literally been seeing our favourite and most inspiring live musicians perform there our whole lives! There was a really amazing streak where we saw Lana Del Rey, Lorde and The Xx there all within the same year, and all three shows were so magical.

I’m not normally one for rebellious acts but at the ripe age of 17, I managed to jump the Riverstage fence for a toga party into the over 18s section with the help of a nearby milk crate. I made it into the crowd only to hear the DJ announce this was the last song and the event was finished. It was a momentous occasion for my racing heart.

Last Dinosaurs' Lachlan Caskey

Undeniably the most memorable show I saw at Riverstage was D’Angelo at Soulfest back in 2015. Never ever thought I’d be able to see him live, but thankfully he did. Maxwell played too. Mental.

Confidence Man's Sugar Bones

I remember it like it was yesterday... I’d just started high school and bought my first guitar. Surfy wimp rock was at its all time peak and the Holy Trinity were playing an all ages show at Riverstage. It was the salty dog himself - Jack Johnson - with support from Pete Murray and Xavier Rudd. I had to be there. It was a magical night of acoustic gold that sent me off on a musical journey that I’m still on today.

Riverstage's 30th Birthday Bash takes place on Saturday 7 September. Head to theGuide for all the info and check out the 30 best Riverstage shows as voted by Brisbane locals here.
