We'll forgive you this time Wolf Alice!
Remember back when British alt-rockers Wolf Alice postponed their Brisbane show following their nomination for the prestigious Mercury Prize award.
Well turns out it was a good thing they didn't stand up the ceremony because they have just gone and won it.
The band's album, Visions Of A Life, took out the Album Of The Year category at the ceremony at London's Eventim Apollo earlier today, beating Noel Gallagher, Florence + The Machine and Arctic Monkeys.
When receiving the award, singer and guitarist Ellie Rowsell spoke of how much the win meant saying, “This means so much to pick this up with my three best friends.”
Guitarist Theo Ellis took a different approach, dismissing a previous rejection from a label boss due to the band's 'look' with a resounding, “But here we are, so fuck you!”

"I actually can't believe it. Noel Gallagher's fucking sat there looking at me. What are you supposed to say?"
Speaking of the album the judging panel said, “From an incredibly broad list of remarkable music, Wolf Alice emerged as the overall winner due to their ability to deliver an album that combines the epic and intimate in equal measure. It is a journey of a record – with euphoric festival anthems and moments of subtle beauty – it is an album articulated with confidence and adventure. For them, the world awaits!”
After the celebrations no doubt carry on well into the night, Wolf Alice will have to head to the airport quick smart as the tour kicks off on Sunday night in Sydney.
