Regurgitator, Bad//Dreems, Magic Dirt Off To Mt Gambier For 2024 Beer & BBQ Fest

For the first time since its beginnings in 2015, the Adelaide Beer & BBQ Festival is heading to the limestone city of Mount Gambier.

Taking place at Mount Gambier's Railway Lands during the 2024 March long weekend – Saturday, 9 and Sunday, 10 March – The Smith Street Band will headline the event on the first day and Regurgitator on the second.

Those popular Australian acts will be joined by more local music heroes, including Bad//Dreems, Magic Dirt, The Pretty Lillies and more. You can check out the full line-up below.

In addition to the music part of the weekend, this is an event called South East Beer & BBQ Festival, and there are plenty of highlights going on there. Regarding beer, local Limestone Coast products are showcased, including Woolstore, Loophole and Little Rippa. Fans of Adelaide beers Pirate Life, Melbourne’s Sure Brewing and Sydney’s Bracket Brewing should also feel pretty happy with the drinks on display.

While organisers tease Limestone Coast BBQ yet to be announced – including vegan and vegetarian cooks – the festival will host barbecue legends from across the country, such as Adelaide’s Smokey Uppercuts, Mt Gambier’s Lumberjack’s BBQ, Sydney’s Hoy Pinoy, Melbourne’s Burn City Smokers, and many more.

“South East Beer & BBQ Fest is not a half-baked version of the Adelaide event but kind of like a 'greatest hits' of all the things we love,” Co-Director of the Beer & BBQ Festival, Gareth Lewis, stated. “We hope it develops its own unique identity tied to the Limestone Coast and the great producers, bands and people who are lucky enough to call it home.”

South Australian Minister for Arts Andrea Michaels added, “The Malinauskas Government is committed to bringing more live music to South Australians right around the state, and we are thrilled to be supporting the inaugural South East Beer and BBQ Festival in Mount Gambier in 2024 with a grant through our See it Live program.”
