This is going to be huge
Hobart has a hidden secret and that is the experimental music and arts festival MOFO, returning next January with its world-class, unique program.
Taking place at its home in and around the Museum Of Old And New Art, festival curator Brian Ritchie (of Violent Femmes fame) is thrilled to welcome their two main acts for 2017 — tētēma and Puscifer.
Comprised of Faith No More's Mike Patton and seasoned Aussie experimental composer and pianist Anthony Pateras, tētēma will be dishing out their exclusive world first at MOFO. The duo have expanded to a quartet with Australian percussionist Will Guthrie and violinist Erkki Veltheim for the festival.
Another teaser for MOFO comes in the form of supergroup Puscifer, the brainchild of Tool and A Perfect Circle's vocalist Maynard James Keenan, who will be making a stop at the festival as a part of their 2017 tour.

Ritchie said of the first two MOFO acts, "MOFO is thrilled to be able to present some of rock’s most notable luminaries out on musical joy rides. Mike Patton and Maynard James Keenan are both visionaries and serial musical adventurers. They are just the tip of the iceberg of avant-garde musicians crashing into Tasmania in January."
MOFO will be revealing their full 2017 line-up on 12 October; MOFO hits Tassie from 18 to 22 January.
