Pulp have signed a record deal with UK independent label Rough Trade Records, as rumours circulate that the Britpop heroes will release a new album in 2025. Rough Trade has managed Pulp for over three decades.

Sharing the news on social media overnight, the band wrote: “Pulp are pleased to announce that they have signed a record deal with Rough Trade Records.” The brief statement continued, “Rough Trade have managed Pulp for over 30 years, so it feels great to be finally on the label. We did it!”

Last year, Pulp reunited for their first live shows since 2012, with NME noting that they played numerous new songs on the tour, including A Sunset, Spike Island, Farmer’s Market, My Sex, and You’ve Got To Have Love. The band are set to continue touring in 2025.

The band were reportedly recording some music in August. Frontman Jarvis Cocker was spotted in Walthamstow, London, carrying an orange Rough Trade tote bag when he allegedly said that the band were “back in the studio.

Pulp’s most recent album, We Love Life, dropped in 2001. There’s currently no confirmation about new music, but signing to a record label sure seems like a positive sign of a new album on the way.

Icons of the Britpop era, Pulp originally formed in 1978. The band rose to mainstream prominence in the mid-90s, thanks to the success of full-lengths His 'n' Hers and Different Class, with the latter reaching the number-one spot in the UK album chart.
