Just a quick'un, though, so don't get caught missing out
Veteran post-metal trailblazers Neurosis have announced a brief run of Australian headline shows in February next year.
The experienced experimenters will hit the country freshly warmed up by their debut visit to New Zealand, for which they'll play in Wellington and Auckland; their first Australian date is with Brisbane, with Sydney and Melbourne following in due course.
There won't be any first-time jitters on display for our leg — Neurosis knocked over their maiden shows in Australia in 2014, which, yes, was still like three decades into their career. Hey, better late than never.
Late, sure, but slowing? Never; most recent album Fires Within Fires, the band's 11th studio effort, arrives four years after its predecessor, 2012's Honor Found In Decay, but represents a lifetime's worth of work and development. The release, which was produced by seasoned producer Steve Albini, boasts typically bountiful thematic and instrumental depth — both crucial elements in Neurosis' renowned, spellbinding live performances.

Incendiary Sydney outfit Dispossessed will step up as support act for all three shows, ensuring even further that this tour will be well worth the price of admission (plus probably the cost of some earplugs because parties are fun but tinnitus is not).
Tickets are available via tour promoters Life Is Noise; head to theGuide for full details on venues, dates and other booking info.
