Papa Vs Pretty Unveil New Album, Single, Tour

Fans of Sydney's Papa Vs Pretty have been waiting a few years for a new record, but today the band have given everyone something to look forward to, announcing the 2014 release date for their sophomore record with a single release and tour in the very near future.

The new album, titled White Deer Park, will be unleashed on Australia in February next year, but the band have got the first single to share next month, getting set to drop My Life Is Yours before giving Sydney and Melbourne audiences some launch shows. Below is a taste of the offering's strings for a pretty funny promo for the release.


White Deer Park comes after 2011's critically-acclaimed and ARIA nominated debut United In Isolation, the band recording the new full-length at 301 Studios in Sydney and Forgotten Valley Studios, with mixing sourced from Los Angeles through Kingsize Sound Labs.

Additionally and equally as exciting, Papa Vs Pretty are now a four-piece, adding Luke Liang on keyboard and guitar adding something new to their successful songwriting period.

“We wrote over 80 songs and the culling process was intense!” said frontman and principal songwriter Thomas Rawle.

“I started writing My Life Is Yours before I first went to L.A. to write and finished when I got back; L.A. was a total life changing experience and it set the tone for what followed.”

Papa Vs Pretty's My Life Is Yours single launch shows are the first the band have played in almost a year and they are keen to show off some new material and re-live some of their back catalogue with their fans who have been waiting in anticipation all year.

My Life Is Yours will be released Friday 13 September with the full record, White Deer Park, on sale February 2014 through EMI.
