Brendon Urie channels his inner 'Grease' super fanboy in the video for 'Middle Of A Breakup' letting the Danny Zuko vibes run free and untamed.
Panic! At The Disco have released a video for their new single Middle Of A Breakup and it is best described in one word, Travolta!
Brendon Urie channels his inner Grease super fanboy in the video, letting the Travolta as Danny Zuko vibes run free and untamed. Directed by frequent Panic! At The Disco collaborator Brendan Walter, the throwback visuals are a perfect match for the old-school rock 'n' roll infused tune.
The '50s vibes are everywhere on the upbeat earworm. Penned by Urie, Jake Sinclair and Mike Viola, Middle Of A Breakup is a song about...well about not being able to stop having sex in the middle of a breakup. Both the video and the lyrics tell the story of a seemingly doomed relationship that carnal desires won't allow to properly end.
Middle Of A Breakup is the second single from Panic! At The Disco's upcoming record Viva Las Vengeance following the titular track's release in June.
Viva Las Vengeance shows a change in process for frontman/songwriter Brendon Urie, having cut everything live to tape in Los Angeles alongside his friends and production partners, Jake Sinclair and Mike Viola.

Much like Middle Of A Breakup, the first single is accompanied by a video that oozes old-world charm.
Viva Las Vengeance was recorded by Urie in Los Angeles, cutting the entire album live to tape and working with his friends/production partners, Jake Sinclaire and Mike Viola. The record also features Butch Walker on several tracks.
Speaking about Viva Las Vengeance Brendon Urie shared
"It is a look back at who I was 17 years ago, and who I am now with the fondness I didn't have before. I didn’t realize I was making an album and there was something about the tape machine that kept me honest"
Further, the band shared a statement that reads Viva Las Vengeance is “a cinematic musical journey about the fine line between taking advantage of your youth, seizing the day and burning out.” From the perspective of frontman/songwriter Brendon Urie, this album “[takes] an introspective look into his relationship with his decade-plus career including growing up in Las Vegas, love, and fame.”
