Open Season 2024 Adds Dirty Three, Pond, Ladyhawke & Cosmo’s Midnight

Four new acts have been added to Open Season – one of the most exciting music and art series heading to Brisbane (Meanjin) this year – as the itinerary expands to feature a total of 27 stellar events.

This year’s Open Season program will run from Monday May 20 until Thursday August 1, with at least one show going down every week between The Tivoli and the Princess Theatre. The first lineup announcement landed just a few weeks back, featuring international heavyweights like Explosions In The Sky, Yves Tumor and Sky Ferreira, and local legends like The Paper Kites, Regurgitator and SLUMBERJACK.

Today’s (April 16) expansion to the bill adds Kiwi indie-pop favourite Ladyhawke, as well as Australia’s own Dirty Three, Pond and Cosmo’s Midnight.

Ladyhawke will close the program out with her gig – scheduled for Thursday August 1 at the Princess Theatre – while Pond will play the same venue on Saturday June 29, and Cosmo’s Midnight will play there on Saturday July 6. Dirty Three, on the other hand, will deliver their first Brisbane show in 12 years on Friday July 28 at The Tivoli, with support coming from Eleanor Jawurlngali.

Presale tickets for Ladyhawke and Cosmo’s Midnight will be available here from 12pm tomorrow (April 17), with tickets going live for the general public at the same time a day later (April 18). Upon announcing Open Season 2024, Dave Sleswick – creative director for both The Tivoli and the Princess Theatre –  said in a formal statement: “Open Season is about bringing Brisbane to life over the typically quieter winter months, promoting togetherness and celebrating artistic adventure.
