"We got up really early, took a plane to New York and got there and he wasn't there at the studio."
Remember the time The Offspring had a global hit song with Redman?
The California-founded band's 2000 track with the US rapper, Original Prankster, was a top ten hit around the world and even went Platinum in Australia the following year.
Speaking on the latest episode of The Green Room With Neil Griffiths podcast to promote their new album, Let The Bad Times Roll, The Offspring frontman Dexter Holland recalled a memorable first encounter with Redman.

"We got up really early, took a plane to New York and got there and he wasn't there at the studio.

"So they called him... 'Oh, he just woke up. He'll be here in a minute.' And it's like, I dunno, one o'clock. Half an hour later, they call him again - 'He's on the way, he's on the way. He's coming.'
"Anyway, it took a couple of hours to get there and you could tell he was still like, shaking off the night before, just like, 'Yeah yeah, I'm just gonna go in there and kinda get ready. I'll be ready in a second.'
"And he went him there and rolled the most enormous spliff I've ever seen in my life, right? And went through about three or four of them, got completely baked and then he's like, 'OK man, let's go! Let's do it!'"
While The Offspring celebrate the release of their first album in almost a decade, Redman will appear on tomorrow's Versuz battle against longtime friend and collaborator, Method Man.
