Northlane are back with their newest “landmark” collaboration, but it’s not necessarily music related. Teaming up with Brisbane coffee fixture Death Before Decaf, the Aussie metalcore legends have unveiled their own signature bags of coffee.
Stock is limited, so the band urges you to order bundle packs or single items quickly. You can order the Northlane signature choices, Obsidian and Carbonized, from the Death Before Decaf online store or in person in Brisbane.
Revealing the new team-up on social media last night (20 July), Northlane wrote, “Death Before Decaf has been a staple in Brisbane’s coffee scene for as long as we can remember; open 24hrs with metal-inspired attitude, brilliant brews, and phenomenal house-roasted beans.
“We were introduced at Knotfest Brisbane and hit it off. They were serving the bands backstage, and due to [guitarist] Josh’s insatiable obsession with coffee, a conversation led to collaboration.”
From there, the band tasted every variety Death Before Decaf offered them. They settled on two varieties to suit their tastes and promote their latest album, the Obsidian espresso blend and the Carbonized Single Origin Filter. Order your bags of coffee here.

In January, Northlane vocalist Marcus Bridge (who celebrated his birthday this week) revealed a different out-of-the-ordinary collaboration with Australian singer Kate Miller-Heidke.
Re-recording her 2008 classic, The Last Day On Earth, the pair shared the track ahead of the premiere of The Last King Of The Cross. The song finds Miller-Heidke utilising her softest register and a piano contrasted with guitars entering the chorus, while Bridge's soaring vocal intertwines with Kate's. You can check it out here.
Miller-Heidke wrote The Last Day On Earth alongside her partner, Keir Nuttall. The track was the final song on her 2008 album, Curiouser. The song became an instant hit, debuting at #3 on the ARIA Charts and scoring a certification of 3x Platinum.
Northlane, meanwhile, hit #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with their 2022 album, Obsidian.
The album was named one of The Music's Best Australian Albums Of 2022, with the publication asking, “How does a band top their best album to date? How do they go from tackling highly personal themes, such as intergenerational trauma and addiction, to come out the other side stronger than ever? You have to ask Northlane because that’s what they did on their sixth album, Obsidian.” You can listen to Carbonized below.
