‘No Perth??’ Holy Holy’s Brilliant Response To Fan After Tour Omission

Holy Holy’s Oscar Dawson has taken to social media and spoofed the Tame Impala modern classic, Feels Like We Only Go Backwards and renamed it Feels Like We Never Go Westward in response to a fan who asked why the band aren’t visiting Perth in promotion of their new album.
“It feels like we’re never going westwards, no, and every part of me screams ‘go west’,” Dawson sang over the keyboard on Instagram yesterday (14 September), replying to a fan who asked, “No Perth??”
He continued, “And we got your hopes up again, oh, not again / Feels like we’re never going further than Adelaide.”
Making it the anthem any Perth-residing music fan would understand all too well, Dawson sang, “When a band says they’re touring around the country, but no Perth, and they ain’t going further west than Hindley Street / So you move your thumb and say ‘No Perth crying emoji’ … ‘Perth suuurely’”.
Longing to see the sunset over the ocean, Dawson assured fans, “There’s something in the water over there” and reminded them, “We know Australia’s big, really big”, but there’s good news: “It won’t be long til we are back in Perth…” You can watch the amusing clip below.
Dawson captioned the video, “Perth, Freo, Dunsborough, Margs, Albany, Broome, Wave Rock, Geraldton, we love you, we miss you, you aren’t forgotten… we just couldn’t make it happen this time (for our LISTENING PARTIES), but we’ll be there soon. Also, something spesh coming up v soon for you all. LOVE LOVE LOVE”.

This month, Holy Holy are hosting listening parties around the country in support of their new album, Cellophane, which will be released on Friday, 22 September.
