Just days after announcing the triple j Unearthed competition winners added to the 2024 Laneway Festival line-up, the event has grown even larger with two new stages and nine additional acts joining the bill in Melbourne and Sydney.
We’re just three weeks out from this year’s Laneway, and for fans of bands with guitars or those waiting for more EDM bangers, today’s announcement has you covered. In collaboration with Jameson Irish Whiskey, a fifth stage is being added at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse called Jameson’s House of Rounds at St Jerome’s Bar.
The revamped St Jerome’s Bar will host indie-rock rising stars The Buoys, Australia’s funniest punk band, These New South Whales, as well as ripping fan favourites The Belair Lip Bombs, CIVIC and Dust.
While guitars will be heard in Melbourne, Sydney will welcome a fifth stage, too: The Chop Shop, a multi-level dance party starring some of Australia’s coolest DJs, 1tbsp, C.FRIM, RONA. and Jai Piccone.
In a statement, festival founder Jerome Borazio said about the return to the early days of Laneway Festival with St Jerome’s Bar in Melbourne, “You can take the festival out of the bar, but you can’t take the bar out of the festival.
“The original St Jerome’s Bar was the heart of Laneway Festival. It had a rebellious spirit, a wild energy and welcomed creative people from all walks of life. Jameson House of Rounds will reflect the original essence of the bar with its incredible line-up, and we’re looking forward to it being an ongoing part of Laneway Festival.”
