A stack of international and Australian acts announced for the Friday Nights with Vincent Van Gogh music series
The National Gallery Of Victoria has announced the full line-up for the Friday Nights With Vincent Van Gogh music series, which is taking place between April and July.
The Friday Nights series allows visitors after-hours entry to the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition Van Gogh & The Seasons and features art talks, food and bars as well as live music performances in the Great Hall.
Appearing on the bill is The Drones singer and guitarist Gareth Liddiard who, in celebration of the winter exhibition, has recorded a cover of Jonathan Richman’s song Vincent Van Gogh.
Three international acts are also featured on the line-up — UK singer-songwriter Gemma Ray, US ambient musician Liz Harris’ project Grouper and New York-based songwriter and guitarist Steve Gunn.
They're joined by Youth Group singer Toby Martin, songwriter Emma Russack, Arnhem Land singer-songwriter Gawurra, Two Steps On The Water, The Fauves, The Blackeyed Susans and Ben Salter Band.
Perth indie rock band The Panics will also perform a special show on the Saturday night of the closing weekend.
