Wolfmother returned in a big way on the weekend with their new single, Stay A Little Longer, another banger to add to their catalogue.
Channelling the likes of Led Zeppelin and Thin Lizzy, Stay A Little Longer is a rock and roll barnburner and their first taste of new music since 2021’s Rock Out. Check out the new single below.
Like 2014’s New Crown, Rock Out was also a surprise album, with lead vocalist and bandleader Andrew Stockdale writing on Facebook at the time of the album’s release, "No label, no distributor, no manager, local band, no pre-order or eight month setup and a 19-year-old engineer who’s now 20.
"Thank You Wolfmother Fans! Who says rock’n’roll's dead? If having all these things works for you, no worries. I just think if a digital aggregator can get your music out in a few days, what’s the point in all the rest?
"I feel like Spotify and iTunes should be used like an app for musicians. But this is a billion dollar industry. Each to their own. I just enjoy putting music out this way. Respect to all the industry folk just enjoying a different trip."
Wolfmother performed at the boutique music festival, Wanderer, last September at Pambula Beach alongside Hayley Mary, The Vanns, Ziggy Alberts, The Dandy Warhols, DMA’S, The Teskey Brothers, Confidence Man, Sarah Blasko, Winston Surfshirt, Curtis Harding, Jack River, Emma Donovan And The Putbacks and so many more.

In 2019, Stockdale put up numerous band instruments and memorabilia for auction on eBay.
Posting to Instagram, the singer-songwriter shared a few key items from the auction, including the red suede waistcoat he wore in Wolfmother’s Woman video, a test pressing of 2014’s New Crown, guitars, studio microphones and more.
“Grow a mullet and hit the pub circuit doing Bon Jovi covers with this axe,” Stockdale said about one of the guitars priced at $500.
“Bought in Singapore whilst supporting G’n’R to jam in the lobby hotel whilst drinking Singapore Slings, it was a good idea at the time, though now I think this belongs in another home.”
