Country Song, a musical play based on the life of Jimmy Little is coming to Illawarra Performing Arts Centre in September.
Directed by Wesley Enoch, Country Song is a new toe-tapping play based on the life of the late, great Indigenous Australian singer-songwriter Jimmy Little, coming to Illawarra Performing Arts Centre in Sep as part of their Merrigong 2015 Season.
Actor and musician Michael Tuahine came up with the original idea after being inspired by Walk The Line. The story was then further developed by award-winning playwright, Reg Cribb (The Damned, Last Cab to Darwin). An ARIA Hall Of Fame inductee, Little was the first Indigenous Australian to achieve mainstream music success with hit singles like Royal Telephone, a #1 in 1963. He passed away in 2012 aged 75.
