Missy Higgins will make her long-awaited return to a day on the green this year, bringing the final shows on her The Second Act run to Mount Cotton, Bowral, and the Barossa Valley this November and December.
Due to demand that hasn’t died down – Higgins has spent five months of the year on the road promoting her forthcoming album, The Second Act, and celebrating the 20th anniversary of her debut album, The Sound Of White – Higgins will play three more shows to close this powerful chapter.
The Second Act tour will come to a rousing conclusion at Sirromet Wines, Mount Cotton, QLD, on Saturday, 23 November; the Centennial Vineyards in Bowral, NSW, on Saturday, 30 November; and Peter Lehmann Wines, Barossa Valley, SA, on Saturday, 7 December. The dates mark Higgins’ first time headlining a day on the green since 2006.
Higgins’ final dates of the tour – presented in conjunction with Roundhouse Entertainment and Frontier Touring – will see her joined by a star-studded list of special guests, including Dan Sultan (Mount Cotton only), Kate Miller-Heidke in Bowral and the Barossa Valley, and Ruby Fields will open the shows on all dates.
A day on the green, Frontier Touring and AAMI members can gain early access to tickets by participating in pre-sales that open on Friday, 30 August, at 11 am local time. The general sale begins at 11 am local time on Tuesday, 3 September, via Ticketmaster. All event information is available on the a day on the green website.
In a statement, Higgins said of the forthcoming tour dates: “I never imagined it would take me most of 2024 to do this Australian tour, but it’s been such a great experience on every level that I’m glad the band and I will get to share it a few more times with all these big crowds.

“There have been lots of fans posting about how disappointed they were to miss out on getting a chance to see this two-act show, so now they’ll have no excuse!”
Higgins will also perform at Melbourne’s Sidney Myer Music Bowl with special guests Dan Sultan and Mia Wray on Friday, 6 December, as part of Victoria’s ALWAYS LIVE music program.
Today’s announcement arrives weeks after ARIA announced that Higgins would be inducted into the Hall of Fame at this year’s ARIA Awards, making her the youngest-ever inductee.
Next Friday (6 September), Missy Higgins will release her first full-length in six years with The Second Act, which she’s described as the sequel to The Sound Of White. She’s been touring on her most extensive tour of Australia in 20 years, playing to over 80,000 people across 40 sold-out dates.
