The Danish alt-rockers will return to Oz for a four-date run later this year
Danish alt-indie-rock veterans Mew will return to Australia for a four-date tour in support of their newest album, Visuals, this September.
Proudly presented by The Music, the tour gets under way at The Triffid, in Brisbane, heading down the coast to Sydney's Manning Bar and Melbourne's Max Watt's before flying west to finish up at Capitol, in Perth.
The band's seventh studio full-length — and first since the departure of guitarist Bo Madsen — Visuals landed back in April after being teased in January with the release of closing track Carry Me To Safety.
Its first official single, 85 Videos, arrived the following month along with a kaleidoscopic video clip heavily inspired by (or which heavily inspired) the album's artwork, itself the product of seasoned visual artist — and band frontman — Jonas Bjerre.

The heavy visual influence not only steered the album's creation — Bjerre worked on that aspect first to see if it would shape the ultimate form of the record's music — but carries over to the band's breathtaking live shows, the projections for which Bjerre has been responsible since day one.
"We do everything on this album ourselves," Bjerre said in a statement. "We produced it ourselves, I did the artwork, I’m doing the visuals. Visuals felt like a fitting title. I like the idea that each song has a visual aspect to it somehow."
Despite their lengthy history, Mew only made their maiden voyage to Australia in 2015, around the release of their previous full-length, +-, largely based off the support of their local fan contingent, Mewstralia, who were "instrumental" in bringing them Down Under, Bjerre said at the time.
Supports for the band's upcoming tour will be announced in the near future. Tickets will go on sale from 10am this Thursday, 29 June, via Oztix.
