Meredith Music Festival is back for its 32nd year, announcing a diverse line-up of international and local talent, from dance music to indie rock to punk to heartfelt singer-songwriter energy.
Aunty Meredith has pulled it off again, with this year’s event going down at the Supernatural Amphitheatre on Friday, 6, Saturday, 7 and Sunday, 8 December.
Leading this year’s festival is generational dance music trendsetter Jamie xx, heading to Meredith for the first time. Another first-timer high up on the bill is indie punk favourite Waxahatchee – the moniker of musician Katie Crutchfield – bringing her latest record, Tigers Blood, to Australia.
Buzzing to be performing at the Supernatural Amphitheatre are Genesis Owusu, indie sleaze revivalist The Dare, Glass Beams, Angie McMahon, funk outfit ZAPP, singer-songwriter and producer Mk.gee, punk band Mannequin Pussy, Barkaa, the iconic Essendon Airport, and stacks more.
You can check out the line-up below. Meredith organisers hint that a few more acts will be added soon.

For another year, Meredith is utilising a ballot ticket system. The second round of the ballot is now open and closes at 10:32 pm on Tuesday, 20 August.
The Meredith Music Festival website notes that “everyone flies first class, for three days and two nights”, with the ticket price covering all parking, camping, booking fees, car passes, BYO convenience, and spins on The Eye. An independent festival that doesn’t rely on commercial sponsors, every ticket sold goes to helping organisations thrive in the Golden Plains district.
Being in the ballot gives you the best chance at getting tickets, so if you’re interested in heading to the Amphitheatre this year, you can sign up for the ballot here.
A statement from Meredith organisers reads:
For the Thirty Second and Very First Time.
All singing, all dancing in the underground wunderland that is the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre.
One of the best places on earth to spend a weekend, The Sup’ has been natured and nurtured on home‑spun know‑how for over thirty years, for the singular purpose of hosting The Time Of Your Life.
This year’s Meredith Music Festival follows last year’s impressive bill, which featured Caroline Polachek, Kraftwerk, Alvvays, Alex G, C.O.F.F.I.N., and more.
