The emergent troubadour has turned a lot of heads in just a few short years
Melbourne country songstress Gretta Ziller has signed with local indie label Social Family Records ahead of the release of her debut full-length, Queen Of Boomtown.
A finalist in both the Toyota Star Maker and Teltra Road To Discovery competitions, Ziller has attracted broad acclaim over her relatively short career to date, nabbing a nomination as CMC's New Oz Artist Of The Year and picking up the title of Tamworth Songwriters Association/APRA New Songwriter Of The Year in 2013.
Understandably, the singer-songwriter describes herself as being "thrilled" by the prospects of the new deal, which sees her join an existing roster that includes award-winners such as Amber Lawrence and Troy Kemp, and says that she's "really looking forward to working with the team" to usher Queen Of Boomtown out into the world.
"I've watched and admired their work from afar for years now, and I'm so excited to be joining their family," she said in a statement.

The feeling is evidently mutual, with Social Family manager and head of PR and publicity Nardia Drayton enthusing in a statement: "In a world where there's so many artists out there, you're always looking for those that really capture you — Gretta Ziller is one of them.
"What a voice! What a songwriter! What a supreme talent! Artists like Gretta bring their passion with them, and it's infectious. I'm extremely proud and privileged to have her join the 'family' here at SFR."
Further info about the album's release will be announced in the near future; in the interim, you can catch Ziller at any of her upcoming dates in Fitzroy North, Dromana and Brunswick. See her website for more details.
