Stalwart BYO event Festival Of The Sun — FOTSUN for expedience — has announced a killer first line-up for this year's event, returning to Port Macquarie this December.
The all-Aussie stack is led by the likes of Meg Mac, Ball Park Music, The Preatures, Horrorshow and Holy Holy, with the wider roster filled out by a range of new and old favourites covering a diversity of sounds and subcultures.
The ranks include artists such as Kim Churchill, Bad//Dreems, Sampa The Great, The Bennies, Ali Barter, Ivan Ooze and The Cactus Channel, as well as being rounded out by emergent stars Dear Seattle, Press Club, Maddy Jane, Betty & Oswald, WHARVES, Sons Of Jaguar, Scabz and a yet-to-be-revealed triple j Unearthed winner, 'coz there's always one of those. More acts are still to be announced come September.
This year marks the 14th event for FOTSUN, which has well and truly grown into a favourite destination festival for artists, fans and industry alike. Camping options are available — including the luxe Tent City VIP area — and there will be a free shuttle running for folks who live within 10km of the fest but don't want to stay on-site.

"After such positive feedback on last year’s larger line-up and bigger side-stage artists, we’ve continued to build FOTSUN in 2017 and are looking toward a bright future," festival director Simon Luke said in a statement.
"We're really proud of the fact the FOTSUN experience is so unique that we attract lots of artists and industry who simply attend to hang out and catch up, including many past performers, who are always welcome!"
Tickets will go on sale from 10am on 31 August via the event website; if you want to ensure you get one, make sure you move quickly, because it's almost certain to follow in last year's footsteps and sell out in a flash.
Festival Of The Sun is an 18+ event (though kids under 12 are allowed when accompanied by an adult) and will be held from 7-9 December. For more information about the festival, see theGuide or head to its website.
