Marlon Williams will return to Australia this June, bringing his critically acclaimed An Evening With show to our shores and marking his first solo dates in Australia in ten years.
While Williams played at Aussie festivals, including Splendour In The Grass and Riverboats, and in theatres across the country last year, the solo tour arrives with huge hype. Ambient Light Blog wrote that Williams delivered a show with “stupendous style”, and Crave Podcast declared, “You won’t be disappointed.”
For the An Evening With tour – postponed due to Covid-19 restrictions in 2020 and 2021 – Williams promises a very different show for his Australian fans.
The concert finds Williams performing completely solo, playing early material and deep cuts and is set to introduce the audience to new songs.
The An Evening With Marlon Williams tour begins at Sydney’s City Recital Hall on Friday, 7 June, and then heads to theatres in Thirroul, Brisbane (as part of the newly announced Open Season line-up), Hobart, Melbourne, Anglesea, Perth and Adelaide.
Tickets to Williams’ upcoming Australian tour go on sale tomorrow at 10 am local time, with Perth tickets going on sale at 1 pm WA time on Thursday, 28 March. You can find tickets here.

In a review of Williams’ show at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre last year, The Music’s Shaun Colnan said of the singer’s epic introduction to the stage: “He sings with mellifluous tones in his native Maōri, a beautiful, lilting, haunting song. There are no instruments in this arrangement. The purity of acappella meets the purity of the lyric. He closes the ballad as a spotlight coats him in light. He wears a vintage black suit, a guitar readily strapped over his shoulder, and a beaming, charming smile.”
