Did they Uptown Funk it up?
Back in October, it came to the fore that renowned songwriter and producer Mark Ronson was facing legal action from Minneapolis-based '80s group Collage and record label Yours, Mine & Ours Music due to audible similarities in Ronson and Bruno Mars' 2014 mega-hit, Uptown Funk, to the collage song, Young Girls.
TMZ have today reported that Ronson is now facing further legal disputes with Lastrada Entertainment, who own the rights to Roger and Zapp's More Bounce To The Ounce.
The suit alleges that Uptown Funk draws heavily on the first 48 seconds of More Bounce To The Ounce and that Ronson has previously cited Roger and Zapp as an influence.
The entertainment group is now suing the Ronson, Sony, several other producers (excluding Mars), Spotify and Apple to "shut down future plays and sales", as well as an undisclosed amount for damages.
