It's looking like a huge week for local acts on the ARIA Charts.

More Magic Dirt More Magic Dirt

Magic Dirt's debut album, Friends In Danger, is likely to reach its highest ever chart position this week.

According to mid-week ARIA Chart figures, the much-loved album is likely to land in this week's Top 10 following its vinyl reissue. This is the first time the album has been reissued since its original release in 1996, when it peaked at #25 on the ARIA Albums Chart.

Friends In Danger followed on from the release of Magic Dirt's 1995 EP Life Was Better which gained international attention and saw the group ink a deal with Warner Bros US.

"...It's not like we set out to be different... we were always just doing it our own way," said frontwoman Adalita at the time of release.

"When we started we were just doing what we thought was fun, rather than doing what you do to be successful," said bass player Dean Turner on release. "And I just thought that was how every band did it."

Fellow Brisbane act DZ Deathrays are also looking likely for Top 40 with Positive Rising: Part 2, while American artist Vince Staples is looking at Top 30 for his self-titled release.

Over on the Singles Chart, Sydney artist The Kid LAROI could be about to claim his second Australian #1 single with his track Stay with Justin Bieber, with the track expected for at least the Top 3. The Kid LAROI landed in the #1 spot in May with his collab with Miley Cyrus, Without You.
