Luude Samples Moby's 'Porcelain' & The Results Are Stunning

Luude, real name Christian Benson, has sampled the 2000 Moby track, Porcelain, in a video shared on social media.

"Moby the legend sent me the stems to Porcelain," the Aussie dance music producer wrote. "Issey Cross sent over these amazing vocals and it just worked perfect," the video states, "Big Thankyou to Moby for sending me the stems," closes the clip over an electric beat. 

There's no word if this sample will amount to a new single for Luude yet; here's hoping it's not just a TikTok video and will amount to an official release. 

Benson rose to fame and recognition last November, following the release of his Down Under remix, which was "just a bit of fun" - he attempted to inject the Men At Work classic with some drum and bass influence. However, he never anticipated how fast it would grow. Luude's Down Under remix featuring Colin Hay reached #1 in New Zealand and spent four weeks in the top spot, twice as many as the original song in 1982. 

From November 2021 to January this year, the Men At Work remix received more than 10 million streams across platforms, was added to some massive playlists, hit #1 on New Zealand Shazam (also #4 in the UK, #11 in Australia and #124 on the Global Chart), soared up to #32 on the UK Singles Chart and received airplay across the globe from BBC Radio 1 and more. 

"I was actually in isolation with cancelled shows when I released it, and the streams had started going crazy, doesn't feel real still, to be honest," Luude told The Music earlier this year.

"I just made it for a bit of fun while trying to remix songs that are really far away from Drum and Bass, then trying to make them work. 

"People instantly seemed to love them, so the team got to work to see if we could actually release anything - obviously, the original is a bloody classic, and Colin [Hay] has been such a legend in letting us use a fresh vocal of his. 

"It's crazy to actually be part of this next phase of such an Aussie classic and see it going mental around the world."

Luude said he couldn't wait to (hopefully) play it out at shows. He's been in the studio working on "what the next idea might be".
