The run gets under way in Adelaide in June
Tassie legends Luca Brasi have announced the support acts for their upcoming national headline tour and, boy oh man oh boy oh man, they have pulled together quite the group of excellent back-up artists for the run.
First off, they'll be bringing along celebrated US outfit Pianos Become The Teeth, making the journey from their homes in Baltimore, Maryland to lend their hard-hitting brand of post-hardcore to the sojourn. It's been about three years since their last full-length — 2014's uniformly acclaimed Keep You — but with predecessor efforts Old Pride (2009) and The Lack Long After (2011) also filling the catalogue, not to mention EPs including 2015's Close, they've plenty of material to play with to make some new friends Down Under and reinforce old friendships for the already-acquainted.
Also adding to the glorious cacophony will be a couple of Tasmanian acts in lauded singer-songwriter Maddy Jane — no stranger to the touring circuit, having knocked over runs in 2016 with not only the Luca Brasi boys but also Tash Sultana and Montaigne, along with picking up radio play for her recent single Drown It Out — and four-piece outfit Speech Patterns.
The band formed five years ago and went on to pick up swift renown as they performed along Luca Brasi as well as the likes of Title Fight, The Smith Street Band, The Menzingers, A Wilhelm Scream and the legendary Propagandhi. They entered a hiatus in 2015 before returning renewed with a fresh line-up and reinvigorated sense of purpose, and are all set to blitz the upcoming jaunt.
