It begs the question: who put this playlist together?

The US McDonald’s character Grimace celebrated his 52nd birthday in June. A month’s worth of memes overtook the internet, and the restaurant chain launched a meal deal in honour of its mascot with a purple shake to accompany your fries.
As HITC reports, McDonald’s started a birthday playlist for Grimace enthusiasts to listen to whenever they like. Featuring 591 songs that run for over 24 hours, the McDonald’s Grimace’s Birthday Playlist begins with Marilyn Monroe’s Happy Birthday, followed by Kelis’ R&B hit, Milkshake.
“It’s my bday, so pass the aux cord and dance w/ me pls,” the playlist description, which appeared in May, reads in Grimace’s inimitable speak.
While there are classics like Prince’s Purple Rain, ABBA’s Dancing Queen, Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley, I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston, TikTok songs, and numerous birthday songs, there are some genuinely bizarre picks on there, including the addition of Lorna Shore and Cannibal Corpse.
Alongside Weezer’s Buddy Holly, Pour Some Sugar On Me by Def Leppard and Aerosmith’s Dream On, the Grimace Birthday Playlist features Be Quiet And Drive (Far Away) by Deftones, BABYMETAL’s Gimme Chocolate!!, Welcome To The Black Parade, Ghost’s cover of the Iron Maiden track Phantom Of The Opera, Metallica’s For Whom The Bell Tolls, Linkin Park’s Numb, and many more, Freezing Room by Mayhem, Scourge Of Iron by Cannibal Corpse and Lorna Shore's Pain Remains I: Dancing Like Flames are by far the heaviest songs on the playlist.
It begs the question: who put this playlist together? It’s a wild collection of songs with some truly heavy outliers. You can stream the playlist below.

Earlier this year, Lorna Shore vocalist Will Ramos was added to Metal: Hellsinger - a “rhythm-based shooter” game, per Metal Sucks.

In December, Cannibal Corpse's George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher spread some festive cheer with a 666% wholesome Instagram post that showed him holding armfuls of stuffed toys he was giving to charity.
"The last two trips to my local Walmart with [wife Stacy Alourdas-Fisher] have been very productive! More stuffed animals for donations!!! Happy Holidays!!" he shared.
Corpsegrinder shared his plushie-winning strategy in an interview with Metal Hammer. "I play the claw. I'm like a kid at Disney; I'm looking what's in there, and then I'm looking at how it's sitting inside of there. Is there something on top of it? Do I have to move that?," the vocalist enthused.
"So one time we were at a Flying J truck stop, and they had Disney characters in the claw machines - it was one of the bigger ones. I swear to you on my children, I won four of them in one shot - it was some UFO one. I walked away and people, were, like, ‘Holy crap!’"
