London Grammar, the British pop trio behind the hits Strong, Hey Now, Big Picture, and Let You Know with Flume, have gathered a loyal audience with their heartfelt ballads led by the distinctive voice of Hannah Reid.
But sometimes, it comes time for a band member to experience a solo career, and keyboardist Dominic "Dot" Major is ready for that next step.
Announcing the beginning of his solo music on Instagram with an ambient-sounding teaser, Major revealed, "Hello everybody. Electronic music has informed a huge part of me nearly as far back as I care to remember. In three weeks time a journey of my vision through it begins, starting with Bear. I hope to see you there," with a pre-save link in his bio.
London Grammar were due to visit Australia in February 2022 for the first time since 2017. However, the headline tour was postponed and then cancelled due to ongoing issues with the Covid-19 pandemic.
In April 2021 - as the band released their album, Californian Soil, we caught up with guitarist Dan Rothman, who revealed why returning to Australia is such a big deal for London Grammar.
Given the band’s “amazing relationship” with the country, the fact they broke in Australia before anywhere else in the world and had their first experiences playing to large crowds here, it’s not surprising they made it a priority over the US and Europe.

“The last [Australian] tour we did was just… I mean, it was just crazy. I remember playing the Brisbane Riverstage, and we don’t play shows like that really anywhere else in the world – to play to that many people outdoors that’s not a festival is just completely unique," Rothman recalled.
“I can’t actually fathom travelling there right now; the thought of actually being able to go to Australia and perform just seems completely impossible at this very moment, obviously due to the pandemic.
“But as far as I’m aware, we’ve been given the green light to put this tour ahead and try, so we’re going to try because we want to so badly."
We hope that London Grammar are working on those new Australian tour dates.
