A substantial drop from last year.
The 2019 NRL season has officially wrapped up with a 1.8 million people tuning in to watch last night's Grand Final between the Canberra Raiders and Sydney Roosters.
While the Roosters emerged victorious, this year's pre-match entertainment OneRepublic only pulled in 939,000 viewers for their performance. A total of 1,866,000 viewers tuned in for the match.
This is a substantial drop from last year's pre-match numbers, with the US pop-rock band drawing in 209,000 viewers less than Sydney group Gang Of Youths.
OneRepublic performed a number of tracks, including If I Lose Myself and Counting Stars.
Additionally, the group were joined by local artist Thandi Phoenix for a version of Beyonce's Halo, which was written by OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder. Check out the performances below.
There has been some controversy surrounding broadcaster Channel Nine's call to not air Daryl Braithwaite's half-time performance, with one punter taking to Twitter to say "Is there anything more un-Australian than not showing us Daryl Braithwaite?"
