Laneway Festival 2025 Confirms ‘Stranger Things’ Star & Sydney Venue Change

From The Upside Down to Down Under, musician/actor Joe Keery will venture to Laneway Festival next year with his synth pop rock project Djo.

The Stranger Things star is the festival’s mystery act, first teased last week on the 2025 poster and then again earlier today via Laneway’s official Instagram.

Even before Djo was revealed for the event, its line-up was huge, with headliner Charli XCX joined by singer-songwriter Clairo, indie icon beabadoobee, one of the biggest names in UK dance BICEP presenting their new show CHROMA, and stacks more. 

The run of shows next February will mark Djo’s first performances in Australia, following the release of debut album Twenty Twenty in 2019 and its follow-up, Decide, in 2022.

Earlier this year, his Platinum-certified track End Of Beginning, taken from Decide, went viral on TikTok.

Djo’s surprise announcement also comes with news that Laneway is switching venues in Sydney, relocating to Centennial Park.

Tomorrow morning, Tuesday, 15 October, at 10 am local time, you can access the Laneway Festival pre-sale while it remains open for 23 hours. Organisers say this is your one shot to purchase tickets at the pre-sale price of $189.90 plus fees before prices go up. They’ve also noted that they’ve “received more registrations than available pre-sale tickets, so fire up the group chat and be ready to get your tickets early”. 

The general sale begins on Wednesday, 16 October, at 10 am local time.

Upon revealing the line-up last week, Laneway Festival Programming Coordinator Ruby Miles said, “This has to be my favourite Laneway lineup we’ve ever put together – I’m such a fangirl of all of these artists! Having Charli xcx as our headliner is a dream come true, but the lineup's depth from gates open until gates close will make Laneway 2025 so special.”
