The band's debut album, Past Lives, is out on 11 November.
Following the frenetic Permanent Rebellion and somewhat subdued 2022, the emo supergroup L.S. Dunes - with members of My Chemical Romance, Coheed & Cambria, Circa Survive and Thursday - are back with Bombsquad.
The song features the sung and screamed vocals of Anthony Green (Circa Survive), Frank Iero (My Chemical Romance) with a captivating lead guitar riff, rhythm guitarist Travis Stever (Coheed and Cambria) holding it together and providing backing vocals, and bassist Tim Payne and drummer Tucker Rule (Thursday) filling the song with dynamite.
The band debuted Bombsquad at this year's Riot Fest. In a press release, Green said that the track was inspired by his disgust towards the January 6 Capitol riots. "The lyrics for Bombsquad came from a poem that I wrote around the time of the January 6th insurrection. In the midst of the pandemic, people were trying to take down the government because a ConMan politician couldn't admit that he had lost the election, not for any legitimate grievance or protest. The song is a rage against society's depressing and destructive forces."
L.S. Dunes come unshackled from the expectations and music of their already-established and successful bands.
The band will release their debut album, Past Lives, on 11 November via Fantasy Records. Produced by Will Yip (Turnstile, Balance & Composure, mewithoutYou), the album was recorded at his Studio 4 Recording in Philadelphia, PA and will explore issues of fear, dependency, nonconformity, and impermanence; writing for the album was a collaborative effort.
After the shock of the pandemic shutdown, the close friends and mutual admirers realised that 'tomorrow' is not promised.

Iero feared he might never get to play music live again. "We never knew if we would ever get to play these songs together; in fact, none of us lifelong musicians really knew if we'd ever be able to play music for a live audience ever again."
Rule said Permanent Rebellion is about reclaiming your place and identity in the world.
"Permanent Rebellion is about taking back what is rightfully yours." Rule added, "We wanted to do something where you can hear all our bands in it and yet, not have it sound like anyone in particular. Our roots are punk rock and hardcore, and the vibe is hope for all the lost souls."
In saddening news, Circa Survive announced that they are going on indefinite hiatus this week.
My Chemical Romance released their first new original music since their 2019 reformation, The Foundations Of Decay, in May. The band is due to tour Australia in March 2023 with special guests Jimmy Eat World.
