Australia, get ready for the Queen of Pop’s return, as Kylie Minogue has let slip that she’s planning to tour Australia – and hopefully, soon.
This morning, the On A Night Like This hitmaker appeared on The Fox's Fifi, Fev & Nick show, where she was asked if an Australian tour was on the cards.
While she couldn’t say much, she did drop this message for keen fans: “Uh… I want to say yes. Yes. The answer is yes! We’re just locking down details… Maybe I wasn’t meant to say that, but yes!”
Fev later mentioned that Minogue lives close to the MCG in Melbourne and asked, “Would you love to play at the MCG and sell that out?”
Minogue answered, “That’s another dream. One day, that would be incredible, for sure.”
Fev assured her that she could sell out the MCG, to which Minogue responded, “Well if you invite all your friends! You guys are pretty popular.”

Aside from two special performances in Australia last year – performing at WorldPride (where she was joined by her sister Dannii) and for the QANTAS 100th Gala Dinner – and an appearance at Michael Gudinski’s State Memorial in 2021, Kylie Minogue hasn’t toured Australia since March 2019. Since then, she’s released two albums: 2020’s Disco and last year’s Tension.
For Tension’s lead single, Padam Padam, Minogue won the inaugural Grammy Award for Best Pop Dance Recording. She also won the ARIA Award for Best Pop Release, while The Music asked, What does Padam Padam mean?
Kylie Minogue was due to return to Australia this weekend as an exclusive festival headliner of Splendour In The Grass. Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be.
In a review of Minogue’s show at ICC Sydney in March 2019, The Music reviewer Mick Radojkovic remarked, “No number of streamers and confetti showered on the crowd could match the love being showered on Australia’s golden queen, Kylie, as she smiled and thanked each corner of the room following an absolutely epic two-hour performance.
“This was a performer at the top of her game. The choreography, the updated musical versions, and the set design prove the effort that Minogue has put into making a show that exhibits the best of her music and personality. Her graciousness in thanking the band, dancers and crew were noted - and also props to the venue, which was a perfect setting for such a performance, giving everyone the best view (and sound) possible.”
Radojkovic ended the review by stating that Minogue’s Sydney show would “most certainly” be remembered as “one of the best shows you’ll ever see from one of Australia’s living icons.”
