Reggae sensation Koffee will officially be joining five-time Grammy-winning artist Ms. Lauryn Hill on her The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill 25th Anniversary Tour.
As we previously reported,The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill – the first and (thus far) only album by the one and only Ms. Lauryn Hill – celebrates its 25th anniversary on August 25 and the singer will be heading Down Under in a few months in honour of the iconic album.
Following her headline set at the Promiseland festival on the Gold Coast (scheduled for Sunday October 1), Hill will perform at Naarm/Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on the night of Tuesday October 3. A couple nights later, on Thursday October 5, she’ll take to the stage at Qudos Bank Arena in Eora/Sydney. She’ll be joined at both shows by Jamaican reggae stalwart Koffee, marking the latter’s Australian debut.
Tickets for both shows go on sale at 10am AEST this Thursday (August 10) – find them here.
It’s not said whether or not Hill will perform the Miseducation album in full, but at the very least, recent setlists from the hip-hop legend have featured the vast majority of its 16-song tracklist.
The record itself is one of the all-time most iconic hip-hop releases, having been cited as a direct influence on artists like Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, Drake and Nicki Minaj.

In a statement shared upon her initial announcement, Hill said of her upcoming trip Down Under: “The Miseducation album has been a consistently special artwork that has allowed me to tour for 25 years, sharing the message and energy with its loyal appreciators. I’m not even sure if it feels like 25 years have gone by to me. I’m excited to celebrate this landmark anniversary with the fans in Australia, and I look forward to this time capsule experience.
“The music itself was born to be anachronistic, at the same time reclaiming precious jewels from the past, and infusing them with the potency and energy of the present, in order to enrich it and the future. Revisiting the album live has renewed my love and appreciation for the music and the period in which it was born, when hip-hop was ripe with potential and uncomplicated enthusiasm.”
The sentiment was shared by Paul Dainty – CEO and director of TEG Dainty – who added:
“The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill is one of the most seminal hip-hop and soul albums of our time. Alongside her work with the ilk of Nas and Aretha Franklin, and of course Fugees, this tour promises to be an unbridled celebration of the most Grammy-awarded female rapper of all time.”
